Parents are continuously striving to know how to increase concentration power and memory of their children. They will go to any lengths to find more beneficiary mind concentration tips.

What causes distractions

Before we get to the solution, we need to understand that given the world where the kids live today, it’s very easy to become a victim of many distractions. There is Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter, Instagram and dozen other social networking sites and apps that keep their minds busy. Their brain is continually fed with so many things that they tend to lose focus in the everyday learning activity. And this doesn’t apply to just kids but to adults as well. Be it any important meeting or conference, they are mostly distracted by one or the other thing.

When a student is attending a lecture, the teacher’s voice seems to fade away because of the buzz of his internal thoughts. During study time, a student may be thinking of his/her Facebook status or Whatsapp chat. Other students could be busy with similar thoughts occupying their mind. Similarly, in a meeting room, an executive could be thinking of his weekend plans or the party last night. The monkey mind keeps jumping between several different thoughts, making it difficult to focus and concentrate on the things that really matter.

Side effects of distractions and how it affects focus:

Due to so many distractions, people’s awareness is not in the moment. Their performance goes down and they miss vital lessons and opportunities of life. Moreover, as the famous saying goes, “Thoughts Become Things”, they end up creating what they are focussing on, most of which are worries or illusionary pleasures. They are called “illusionary” because they don’t have anything to do with your current reality or true purpose in life.

With distractions gripping their mind, they find it hard to communicate with people around and thus, miss out on important details and instructions. Distraction is the main reason why people don’t achieve their desires and goals. So, how do you come out of illusionary distractions and focus your mind on the present?
