If your Throat (Vishuddha) Chakra is blocked you may feel insecure, but also weak and not able to voice your emotions. This imbalance may also emerge as a dread of speaking in public or even freely discussing personal matters with individuals you know. Alternatively, you might talk in a low voice that is difficult to hear.

A blocked Vishuddha chakra may cause you to be hesitant or unable to speak out in order to protect yourself, convey your views, or communicate your choices. When confronted with uncomfortable talks, you may choose to remain silent rather than speak out. While the Throat chakra is connected with being hushed, an imbalance in the other way may be indicated by an excessive urge to speak or ramble on without a clear goal.

The person does not feel fully confident, nor does he or she have the right words to express and articulate effectively what it truly means to express. When this chakra is blocked, it is difficult to make the right choices and have a clear life path direction to follow.

When your Throat chakra is open and balanced, you will not only be able to speak courageously and compassionately, but you will also be able to listen to and hear people with patience and empathy. Being able to speak frankly and honestly while still caring for others is a gift to all of your relationships. You’ll be able to express your thoughts, emotions, and views clearly. When you have a balanced Throat chakra, you know what choice to make and which path to take. You have a sense of purpose in life that is guided by your inner voice. You stay oriented towards your purpose as if you had an inner compass, no matter how much confusion surrounds you or what advice others give you. You keep authentic to your true self.
The voice of an overactive throat chakra will be shrill and loud; they will often interrupt and dominate conversations. The general attitude is often judgmental and criticizing with a distinct lack of listening to others or letting information in. They are not in touch with their feelings and avoid the vulnerability of feelings by intellectualizing and analyzing. Disorganization, forgetfulness, lack of self-confidence, distractibility, cluttering, stuttering, restlessness and indecision are all common signs along with evolving toxic relationships, lack of faith and wisdom when critical situations emerge and fear of emotional vulnerability covered by intellectualizing or analyzing too much. Sticking to negative and toxic habits and addictions has also been observed.
The under active throat chakra produces a constricted, whispering voice, often mumbling and whiney, timid and not able to speak up for themselves. This person will find it difficult to initiate a conversation, as if they don’t have the right to ask a question. They will often forget to tell you something important, and they cannot find the words to express their emotions. They would not find the words to express their feelings and emotions. And they are unable to speak in the right time but instead they tend to speak at the wrong moment and bring out the off-beam subject out of context. There is a general out of sync way of expression.
Blockages in the Throat (Vishuddha) Chakra manifest in all the parts of the neck especially the throat, mouth and teeth and gums. This also includes the esophagus, trachea and the neck vertebrae. It also includes the endocrine glands of the thyroid, parathyroid and the hypothalamus. The throat chakra expresses its lack of balance in the form of any throat problems like sore throat, upper back aches, ear infections, cold hands and feet, auto immune diseases and laryngitis, raspy throat, chronic sore throat and goiter as well as swollen glands. The area around the mouth can often be affected by mouth ulcers and other gum diseases like gingivitis or tooth abscesses.
