Communication is the ability to comprehend and express oneself; the power of appropriate speech through active listening. Communication issues arise when one fails to understand or misinterprets the words of another and is unable to express precisely what is meant. This inability results in poor communication and miscommunication, which destroys relationships. Communication is essentially much more than speaking; it is the quality of listening, our ability to decipher what is said to us and maneuver the communication accordingly. However, suppressed emotions make it difficult for us to establish our ability to understand and express ourselves correctly. In fact, listening errors are common as a result of repressed emotions and are the beginning of problems in relationships.

Communication problems in relationships begin with not listening, assuming the intended message even before the person finishes, interrupting the speaker, blaming tone, allowing emotions to dictate your response, failing to understand individual differences in communication, misinterpreting the message, being indirect, personal attacks rather than the problem/behavior, and avoiding difficult conversations. This communication quality or such errors cause a lot of harm and are ultimately the cause of failed or broken relationships.

The root cause of communication issues is deep-rooted, at the level of energy or the specific chakra in your body that manifests itself. Understanding the root cause of communication problems, as well as addressing the emotional and psychological causes, necessitates an understanding of this at an energetic level. If the energy of the Throat (Vishuddha) Chakra is out of balance or out of harmony, communication problems arise. An unbalanced Throat (Vishuddha) Chakra causes not only communication issues, but also a variety of diseases. As a result, it is critical to include a natural therapy – an alternative healing therapy. Among the many therapies available under Alternative Healing, Rudraksha Ratna Science Therapy (RRST) is a unique therapy that cleanses the aura, calms down impulsivity, and aids in balancing the Throat (Vishuddha) Chakra.

Misinterpretation: Poor communication may result in misunderstanding due to wrong interpretation of information. It can also cause the person to think negative and make inappropriate assumptions.

Distrust: Mistrust develops when people are unable to properly express their emotions or other feelings. This can lead to communication breakdowns in the family, strained relationships, and conflicts or fights between family members.

Low confidence: The person who lacks the skill to communicate efficiently can feel unconfident. Low self-esteem and difficulty in interpreting the message are also the consequences of poor communication.

Barrier for new opportunities: Lacking the ability to communicate can minimize the number of opportunities in career, business and work. Not being able to converse well is an obstacle that leads to communication problems in business like unable to connect with prospects and build a network.

Grapevine effect: This is one of the major effects of poor communication which is commonly seen. The lack of communication between two people allows others to misinterpret the information further. One may not do it intentionally but it is a result of not conveying the messages correctly or to the right person. The grapevine effect is a classic example of communication problems in organizations.

Confusion: Due to miscommunication, there can be confusion among the people who are conversing. Other people around can also take advantage of the situation and create disputes and misunderstandings.

Doubts: Ineffective communication is the biggest reason for generating doubts. This can result in communication problems in marriage or relationships. Not talking or expressing properly enables the other person to assume things wrongly which may create doubt in the mind.

There are various categories of communication-related problems involving language, speech and processing disorders, leading to hearing and social communication impairments. Further, these disorders are sub-categorized into the actual difficulties of communication as give below:

It is well known that people with communication problems feel insecure as a result of their thoughts and emotions, and they unconsciously try to control any expression of this fact, resulting in a communication disruption that can manifest in many variety of ways, from blocked expression to speaking too much or out of context or time frame. The spiritual solution is to accept your thoughts, feelings, and desires without judgment.

That is how your confidence will build, and you will find it much easier to open up to people and engage in more fluid verbal interactions with them.

Throat (Vishuddha) Chakra is the seat of Effective Communication that governs/achieves quality and harmony. When an individual incline towards negativities in their thinking pattern, he/she is stuck with negative emotions, anxieties – the Throat (Vishuddha) Chakra gets blocked and manifests certain behaviors which cause communication problems.

Essentially, an imbalanced Throat (Vishuddha) Chakra indicates an individual is not able to understand how to speak, has clouded his/her intelligence with negative emotions, fears being ridiculed and hence not able to establish their opinions firmly. This makes the individual feel frustrated and not at ease with self, which lowers Self-Esteem. The inhibited state or low self-esteem state results in a kind of rage caught in the throat. The person is not able to listen, not able to understand, not able to defend themselves and has formed wrong beliefs which block the Throat (Vishuddha) Chakra and results in major communication problems.

Be open for opinions
Being receptive and hearing what others have to say portrays you as a good supporter. It is always recommended to be open for opinions and then make a perception about something instead of acting impulsively and making incorrect assumptions.

Stop wrong assumptions
The key to a good conversation is to stop assuming wrong things and clear the doubts by talking. Wrong assumptions may lead to misunderstanding so it is advisable to interact and know the facts.

Communicate without hesitation
A lot of conversations end even before they start due to the hesitation that one may feel before talking. Taking the initiative to start the conversation is a great way to solve communication problems in a relationship.

Keep your speech clear
Often it becomes necessary to have a clear speech to convey your message. Including meaningful words in your conversation can help you impart the message very clearly and vividly. This is a useful method to fix communication problems in the workplace. If a person has trouble communicating, he/she may gather a few points before speaking and then go ahead with the discussion.

Maintain Eye Contact
It is one of the main tips to resolve your communication problems. Your speech becomes more effective when you maintain eye contact with the one with who you are speaking with. It gives a sense of confidence and also increases the attentiveness of the listener towards you.

Be a good listener
More than a good speaker, it is crucial to be a very good listener and this will lessen a lot of communication issues. Listening to what others have to say & then reacting and paying attention & respect to their opinions enhance the quality of the conversation.

Talk positive
Thinking positive and talking positively in any discussion automatically makes the conversations better. Having a good approach while conversing lets you gain the faith of the other person and helps in overcoming communication problems.

Keep in touch
The communication gap also affects the relationships so keeping in touch is really important. Conversing regularly is a good way to have healthy relations with family, friends, colleagues, etc., and solve problems with communicating.
